So...What is Mini-THON? Who is The Mount dancing for?

Dancing our 5th annual Mini-THON, Mount students are joining more than 90,000 students in a powerful movement to conquer childhood cancer! In addition to supporting your family member/friend who has given up her Friday to dance, here are a couple reasons to support Four Diamonds:

  1. In the U.S., more children die from cancer than any other disease, with 16,000 kids diagnosed every year. At The Mount, we work to change this every year by partnering with Four Diamonds to conquer childhood cancer through world-class care, transformative philanthropy and life-saving research.
  2. Four Diamonds supports more than 80 pediatric oncology research professionals at Penn State College of Medicine who conduct the full spectrum of cancer research. Having a better understanding of how cancer works helps them to develop new, more effective treatments, which are then able to be tested by conducting clinical trials.
  3. The Four Diamonds Pediatric Cancer Research Center is not only benefiting children at Penn State Children's Hospital, but also children and families around the world.
  4. Donations to Four Diamonds are tax-deductible, and 91 cents to every dollar donated goes directly to children battling cancer. This makes Four Diamonds an extremely reputable charity!
