Hello!

On March 15, 2017, my seven year old granddaughter, Mckenna and her family received the news no one wants to hear - Mckenna had Leukemia. Her life has changed forever.
The testing began and the news just kept getting worse.  She didn't have just one type of Leukemia, she had both ALL and AML.  There was a tumor behind her eye the size of a large lemon that was headed for the brain.  And she had a mutated gene called FLT3 that tends to help Leukemia cells grow.  Needless to say, the family was devastated!
Since then Mckenna has undergone chemotherapy, radiation and, just recently, a bone marrow transplant.  She is currently in Hershey Medical Center hoping to be released soon!
From day one Four Diamonds has been there making sure that the only thing Mckenna's parents needed to worry about was her!!  Four Diamonds not only provided the simple things like gas and food vouchers but they have covered ALL her medical costs!  Her parents have not received any hospital bills!

I am joining thousands of walkers and runners as we take steps to conquer childhood cancer. I am participating in the The Conquer Run, the Four Diamonds 5K Run & Fun Walk which will take place on Saturday, September 24th at Hersheypark.

The mission of the Four Diamonds is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Children's Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research.

Each year, Four Diamonds helps approximately 600 children with cancer - 100 who are newly diagnosed and 500 who are continuing their fight. Since it's creation in 1972, Four Diamonds has helped more than 3,300 children and families and supported a diverse platform of childhood cancer research at Penn State Children's Hospital, seeking improved treatments and cures to benefit those around the world.

Please support my efforts in conquering childhood cancer by making a donation today.  All donations are 100% tax deductible.
