My freshman year of high school Mini-THON meant a couple days of fun and a way to give back to a greater community. However, after three more years of immense involvement in Mini-THON, it has become so much more.
Mini-THON is a student run organization that raises money for, and actively supports, pediatric cancer patients. The day of Mini-THON is a dance marathon in which all participants stand for twelve hours to demonstrate our understanding that the pain of standing for twelve hours is only a fraction of the pain children with cancer go through.
Throughout my entire Mini-THON experience I have put in countless hours of work as a Mini-THON captain, dedicated to creating the best promotional videos, website and day of Mini-THON for the kids. Yet all this work pays off in the most meaningful way possible, knowing it all goes to children with cancer and cancer research.
