As the Mini-THON advisor to Twin Valley High School, I am always looking for new ways to fundraise for the club. With 2020 being such a difficult year to do our typical fundraisers, I wanted to do something to really make a difference in the life of a child battling cancer. In just over a month I am going to Ironman Florida triathlon in Panama City Beach, FL as a fundraiser For The Kids! For those of you that don’t know what an Ironman is, it is a race where I will attempt to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles all in under 17 hours. An Ironman is considered one of the toughest endurance races on earth, but in my opinion it does not even compare to the perseverance that a child needs when fighting cancer.
2020 might be a rough year on everyone, but I still can’t imagine the years of struggle that a child must go through to beat their cancer. I believe that each of our Mini-THON Club members are truly making a difference with their daily efforts, and I hope that you can help our club give a child a chance to beat this disease through the Four Diamonds!
