We are participating in the Conquer Run 5K on Saturday, September 23rd at Hersheypark! Our team will join thousands of walkers and runners as we take steps to conquer childhood cancer.
In September, Lydia will be one year post-treatment. Join us to celebrate her first year cancer-free! Lydia was diagnosed in April 2014, shortly before she turned 3 years old. Life turned upside down for our family with little warning - only a fever and pain in her fingers led doctors to the diagnosis of leukemia. Over the next two and a half years, Lydia faced months in the hospital battling life-treatening complications, dozens of clinic days filled with chemo infusions, several surgeries, painful pokes, scary procedures, spinal taps, blood transfusions, scans, awful side effects... Throughout it all, Four Diamonds has provided support, care and hope.
Today Lydia is thriving. She loves gymnastics, excels at reading and is a kind & helpful big sister. She will start first grade in the fall and we love watching her learn and grow. This journey has shaped her determined and brave spirit. God has big things in store for her! We are hopeful that her health will remain strong and now we want to help other children overcome cancer. Many kids do not get to celebrate being cancer-free, like Lydia is today. Many children face a lifetime of long-term side effects from the treatment. More kids are diagnosed every day. We will continue to fight for all of them. We pray for an end to childhood cancer. Safer treatments and a cure are deparately needed! Through research funded by Four Diamonds, we can make an impact on the lives of children everywhere.
